Purpose

This Decision Sheet presents one formal objection, received in response to the formal advertising of various traffic calming features on Redcar Lane and Barrows Lane, Steeton. (as identified within Drawing No. P/HS/THN/105748/CON-OV) (attached as Appendix A)).
The scheme was developed in response to a fatal collision on Tarn Lane, along with a number of other serious and slight injury collisions recorded across this part of the network.
The aim of the scheme is to improve road safety by introducing revised speed limits and physical speed reducing features where they are most needed, ensuring that vehicle speeds better reflect the local environment and creating a safer environment for all road users.

Decision

i) That the proposed traffic calming features on Redcar Lane and Barrows Lane, Steeton. (as shown within Drawing No. P/HS/THN/105748/CON-OV (attached in Appendix A of this Decision Sheet)) be approved and implemented with immediate effect.
ii) That the objectors be advised accordingly
