Purpose

A report updating the Executive on key activity across the Culture, Policy & Events service, including Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture highlights, progress on evaluation of the City of Culture year, and the delivery against the Council's Culture Is Our Plan strategy.

Decision

Resolved –

(1)      That the Executive acknowledged Culture as one of the region's four main drivers for growth and noted the positive progress across cultural activity, alongside the significant work underway        to maximise the legacy of Bradford UK City of Culture 2025.

(2)      That the Executive acknowledged the significant achievements        delivered through Bradford UK City of Culture 2025 and the       considerable contribution of the wide range of partners,   stakeholders and communities involved.  The Executive further          recognised the extensive work being      undertaken through the   2026 transition programme to maximise the benefits generated by      the year, sustain positive momentum, and shape future           programmes, partnerships and opportunities that will realise a   lasting and transformational cultural legacy for the district.

(3) That the Executive endorsed the continued delivery of Culture is           Our Plan through the Council's core cultural events programming,   cultural investment initiatives, partnership working and sector   support activity, recognising these as the principal mechanisms           for sustaining the momentum generated by Bradford UK City of    Culture 2025 and delivering long-term cultural, social and    economic benefits for residents, communities and businesses.
