Purpose
Authorisation to Release Funds from the Communities Spark Fund – May 2026
Decision
That the following 2 Spark Fund grant award totaling £1,000 is approved:
Mundford Village Bowls Club £500 – Alongside the bowls teams, the club currently open the clubhouse to offer and promote community wellbeing to other organisations. The aim is to continue to bring people together to support social connections and encourage families across all generations to get involved. Bowls is a low impact activity and within our club, this helps people to stay active and feel included and enjoy time together.
Iceni Partnership £500 – Funding will support the ongoing operation of the Swaffham Community Fridge, which currently runs Tuesday to Friday. This contribution will help cover essential running costs and strengthen the service offered to local residents. It will also assist with the development of a dedicated mobile unit, enabling the project to collect more donations and reach a greater number of people in the community.
Reasons for the decision
To enhance existing provision, which improves community health and wellbeing and aligns to the Inspiring Communities Corporate Plan priorities. These activities aren’t currently available in the local area or easily accessible in a nearby Ward.
Alternative options considered
- To award the Spark Fund grants.
· Not to award the Spark Fund grants.
