Purpose

Authorisation to Release Funds from the Communities Spark Fund - July 2026

Decision

That the following two Spark Fund grant awards totalling £1000 are approved:

North Tuddenham Recycling Group £500 – A weekly Community Association activity recycling scrap donated by residents. The funding will provide safety goggles and equipment to support the group’s expansion, including plans for a men’s shed and allotment. Proceeds from recycled scrap are reinvested in the community.

Run With HeR Thetford £500 – An inclusive women’s running group improving safety, fitness, wellbeing and social connection. Funding will cover hall hire when running events, head torches and hi-vis items, making sessions safer and more accessible.

Reasons for the decision

To enhance existing provision, which improves community health and wellbeing and aligns to the Inspiring Communities Corporate Plan priorities. These activities aren’t currently available in the local area or easily accessible in a nearby Ward.

Alternative options considered

·         To award the grants

·         Not award the grants
