Purpose

This report provides Members with an overview of recent developments relating to Local Government Reorganisation (LGR), including national policy direction, regional discussions, and Brentwood Borough Council’s engagement to date. It further seeks agreement to nominate two Members to represent the Council on an informal Joint Committee prior to the Formal Joint Committee being established following the Structural Change Order being approved by Parliament in Autumn 2026.
