Purpose
1. To seek approval to spend up to £3.5 million in the next four years for the cost of sales in Blaise Plant Nursery. Note, this is not additional expenditure, any purchases will be for resale and income generation and no spend will be guaranteed.
2. To seek approval to carry out the appropriate compliant procurement route, as guided by procurement following a round of soft market testing.
3. To seek approval to award the contract for the supplies of goods sold for the plant Nursery, in line with the compliant procurement route.
Decision
That the Policy Committee for Public Health and Communities:
- Authorised the spend of up to £4M over the next four years for Blaise Plant Nursery supplies to allow the service to resale the supplies and be self-sustaining.
- Authorised the Executive Director Growth and Regeneration in consultation with the Chair of the Public Health and Communities Policy Committee to pursue an appropriate and compliant route to market for Blaise Plant Nursery supplies to accommodate a spend of up to £4M over four years.
- Authorised the Executive Director for Growth and Regeneration to invoke any subsequent extensions/variations specifically defined in the contract(s) being awarded, up to the maximum budget envelope outlined in this report.
