Purpose

Bristol City Council wishes to commission a
range of highway improvements in the city centre corridor which
includes Park Row, Perry Road, Upper Maudlin Street and Colston
Street. This includes upgrading cycle lanes and other cycle
infrastructure, upgrading crossings and other pedestrian
infrastructure, and upgrading traffic signals.

Further to the 31 August 2022 Officer
Executive Decision, and the 14 September 2021 DfT Active Travel
Fund (ATF) Tranche 3 Cabinet paper that preceded it, the Executive
Director for Growth and Regeneration (in consultation with the
Cabinet Member for Transport) has authorised the commissioning of a
contractor (South West Highways Ltd T/A Taylor Woodrow) to deliver
the works for Park Row, Perry Road, Upper Maudlin Street and
Colston Street.
