Purpose

As part of the Resilient Frome project,
Bristol committed to deliver a River Restoration project on the
river Frome. This commission will build upon the concept designs
developed for the Outline Business Case to progress through detail
design and Full Business Case approval. To do so requires input of
technical specialists that the council does not have and / or does
not have available resource to commit. External resource was
therefore required, utilising the funding provided by DEFRA.

Content

To approve utilisation of the Strategic
Partnership Initiative contract to provide the council with
technical support to develop designs through to full business case
approval for the Resilient Frome – River Restoration
workstream as part of the Flood

Alternative options considered

Option 1 - Alternative options considered were
to procure a new contract and utilise an alternative framework.
Alternative procurement options were rejected due to efficiency of
utilising proposed contract vs procuring new or utilising
alternative framework.
