Purpose

To seek approval to put in place a new,
centralised Corporate Debt Recovery Team to maximise income
collection and debt recovery for Accounts Receivable debts across
the council.

Content

The Committee RESOLVED (unanimous vote in
favour):
 
1. To approve the proposal to spend
£613,041 from the Transformation Reserve to put in place
additional resource into a Corporate Debt Recovery Team and develop
an Outline Business Case for how this should be done in the
future.
 
2. To delegate authority to the Director of
Finance (S151 Officer) in consultation with the Leader and Chief
Executive to approve/review the project budget and approve
additional use of the transformation reserves in the event of
programme slippage.
