•The Council is commissioning a supplier
to carry Occupational Therapy (OT) assessments on their behalf.
This will help to further reduce waiting times for assessment and
provide additional OT support when needed.
•The contract is for 2 years with the option of extending for
1 year plus 1 year.

Details of alternative options considered and
rejected:
•Recruitment of additional OTs. However, the team is
adequately resourced, and the service required is to provide
additional resource to reduce the current waiting list and provide
additional support when needed.
•No action - the waiting times would not reduce and the
council would continue to have long waiting times for OT
assessment.
