Purpose

The Home Improvement Agency contract focuses
on two core components 1) supporting people to be safely discharged
home via minor adaptations and works and 2) independent living
services. This decision to award the contract for the Home
Improvement Agency will have a significant impact upon communities,
particularly older and disabled people across the city who require
adaptations, home from hospital support, and home improvements, so
they can live independently at home. The awarding of this contract
ensures the provision of a commissioned Home Improvement Agency
service will continue.

Approval to award the Home Improvement Agency
contract for 3+1+1 years at a cost of up to £5,759,008
in-line with the procurement routes and maximum budget envelopes
outlined in the report to Adult Social Care Committee on 21 October
2024.

Alternative options considered

Due to the value of this contract, a
competitive open tender was chosen in line with procurement
requirements.
