Domestic Rewire Contract
October 30, 2025 Executive Director: Housing (Officer) Key decision Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
The contract is required to deliver domestic
electrical rewires to Bristol City Council’s housing stock,
to ensure Bristol City Council can deliver on its Housing Consumer
Standard requirements and ensure tenant safety is maintained with
regards to electrical compliance. The estimated value of the
contract is £3,604,850.
Content
The decision taken was to award the contract
to Jeff Way Electrical as they demonstrated to be the highest
placed bidder with regards to quality, price, and social
value.
Alternative options considered
Option 1 - The alternative option of an open
competition run by Bristol City Council directly was considered and
rejected, due to the additional value offered through Procurement
for Housing including supplier engagement, specification
development, and in-contract support. The additional time taken
above and beyond the framework award both to onboard and mobilise a
new contractor may have resulted in not being able to meet
regulatory deadlines.
