Purpose

Bristol City Council currently use 24 flats
owned by the Hospital Trust as temporary accommodation. We are
negotiating a lease extension with the trust for a new 5 year lease
for all 24 flats and are looking to sublease the flats to an
Registered Providers to manage and support the households placed
there.

To enter into a 5-year lease agreement with
the Hospital Trust for 24 flats for use as temporary accommodation
and onward lease the flats to an RP to manage

Alternative options considered

We considered not extending the lease and
moving the 24 households out of the flats. This would add a budget
pressure of c.£360k p/a and so was discounted. Through onward
leasing the property to an RP the full rental cost to BCC will be
recovered.
