Purpose

Work has recently started on developing the
full business case for new and improved flood defences on the river
Avon. To aid the transition from our previous supply partner (Arup)
to our new supplier Jacobs UK, technical support is required to
ensure a successful project handover.
Reason for the decision is to ensure continuity from previous
stages of the project and ensure robust technical decision-making
arrangements are in place.

Content

A decision is made to commission consultants
Arup through the existing BCC Strategic Partnership contract to
provide technical assistance to the client project management
team.

Alternative options considered

An alternative route to market via a neutral
procurement vendor was considered but rejected because the service
was considered to be best provided by our previous supply partner
to ensure continuity of service from earlier stages of the
project.
