Purpose

This project is part of the Education Capital
programme. The work relates to the relocation of Elmfield Secondary
School for Deaf Children from Fairfield High to the Oak Block at
Badock’s Wood Academy (Primary). The refurbished and new
spaces will ensure that the Secondary pupils will be able to access
a full Secondary School curriculum and that the projected numbers
of pupils moving from Elmfield Primary to Secondary will be able to
have their educational needs met.

Alternative options considered

Following an intensive search, a positive
opportunity has been explored through feasibility which can now
progress to utilise one of two buildings at Badock’s Wood
Academy (Primary). This is currently the only option that is
available to support the relocation of Elmfield Secondary to an
appropriate provision within the parameters.
