Purpose

To seek permission to apply for, and if successful accept and spend, National Portfolio funding for Bristol Museums and Museum Development South West, April 2028 - March 2033.

Decision

That the Committee for Strategy and Resources:

1. Approved the proposal for Bristol Museums and Museum Development South West (MDSW) to apply for, accept and spend up to £7.53 million and £5.0 million respectively (up to £12.53 million in total) for the period April 2028 to March 2033, with applications to be submitted between October and December 2026.
2. Authorised the Executive Director for Growth and Regeneration to approve the application, acceptance, expenditure and associated programme of grant funded delivery, should they be awarded, up to the maximum budget envelopes set out in this report.
