Purpose

Bristol is part of the European Union Climate Neutral and Smart Cities Mission. The Leveraging Innovation and Financing for Transformation programme (LIFT) supports Mission cities that are ready to put innovative approaches into practice. This fits with aim of Bristol’s climate plans.

Decision

To accept funding from the Leveraging Innovation and Financing for Transformation programme for the implementation of the Bristol Community Energy Accelerator Project as agreed by the Strategy and Resources Committee on the 14th September 2026. To deliver the project including procuring goods and services from a range of suppliers up to the value of £200k.

Alternative options considered

Not accepting the funding. Rejected because it would not support the achievement of the council’s climate goals.
