Purpose

It has been necessary to vary the Victoria Street civil engineering contract in respect of compensation events generated in the months of July and August 2026 to the value of £119,802. The compensation events were generated in respect of additional drainage jetting and drainage design changes along with lamp column design changes that were all related to the delay caused by the Milliners Building cladding project delay. An existing agreed and increased budget facility is already in place that has allowed for payment of the compensation events.

Decision

Approval to extend the Victoria Street Highways project civil engineering contract with ETM contractors Limited by the sum of £119,802.

Alternative options considered

The variation of the contract was critical to enable the delivery work to continue. It was not possible to remove the items from the scope of the project.
