Purpose

In collaboration and co-ordination with Local
Authorities in South West England, including neighbouring Local
Authorities; Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire
and North Somerset Bristol City Council is required to set Term
Dates for the academic school year 2024/25 for Community and
Voluntary Controlled School in Bristol. Other schools, which are
not Community and VC schools, are responsible for setting their own
dates so these may vary from those set by BCC. The decision was put
to public consultation which was open from March 11th until April
22nd 2024.

To proceed with the proposed school term and
holiday dates for 2025/2026 for Community and Voluntary Controlled
School in Bristol.
Term 1 2nd September 2025 to 24th October 2025 (39 days)
Term 2 3rd November 2025 to 19th December 2025 (35 days)
Term 35th January 2026 to 13th February 2026 (30 days)
Term 423rd February 2026 to 2nd April 2026 (29 days)
Term 520th April 2026 to 22nd May 2026 (24 days)
Term 61st June 2026 to 22nd July 2026 (38 days)
Total - 195 School Days*
*In the school year 2025/26 pupils must attend for 190 days. School
may decide which 5 days in the school year are INSET or non-contact
days (days when pupils do not attend)
Other schools, which are not Community and VC schools, are
responsible for setting their own dates so these may vary from
those set by BCC.
