Purpose

To seek approval for the Children's Homes
Capital Sufficiency Programme Business Case to develop
children’s homes (including crisis homes and disabled
children’s homes) and supported accommodation to increase
local sufficiency for children in care and care leavers

Content

The
Committee for Children and Young People:

1. Approved the Full Business Case for the
development of homes for children in care in Bristol at a total
cost of £2.2m capital.

2. Authorised the Executive Director of Children and
Education in consultation with Chair of the Children and Young
People’s Policy Committee to take all steps required to
implement the business case including to procure and award all
necessary contracts (including construction, works and services
contracts) in-line with the maximum budget envelopes as outlined in
this report.
