Purpose
In February 2019, the harbour authority
obtained cabinet approval to the value of £1.05m to invest in
improvements to harbour infrastructure. Among the proposed
improvements was the creation of new pontoon moorings at Capricorn
Quay. This will:
a) help address the demand for moorings generated by a waiting list
of boaters wishing to berth their vessel in Bristol Harbour
b) create new additional moorings to assist the harbour authority
in reaching its objective of becoming financially
self-sustainable.
Content
Bristol Harbour Authority has obtained
planning approval and a licence from the Marine Management
Organisation to install new pontoon berths at Capricorn Quay.
Following a compliant procurement procedure, a decision has been
made to place a contract with Inland and Coastal Marina Systems
Ltd. for supply and installation of pontoons and a floating
services block housing showers, WCs etc.
