The Portfolio Holder for Public Protection and Enforcement approved the utilisation of the two year extension period for the Domestic Abuse Support Services contract for the period of the 1st of April 2025 to the 31st of March 2027, at an estimated annual value of £248,423 (the whole life value of £964,532.

The Portfolio Holder noted that the extension would be applied for one year only initially, with the remaining one year extension applied subject to the outcome of the service review and subsequent agreement from the Portfolio Holder and the Director of Environment and Public Protection.

Reasons for the decision

The Council holds a contract with Bromley and Croydon Women’s Aid for the delivery of a range of support services to women and girls at risk of, or who have suffered from domestic abuse. The contract is part grant funded via the MOPAC Local Crime Prevention Fund.

The contract was due to expire on the 31st of March 2025. The report presented to the Portfolio Holder sought authorisation to utilise the two year extension option in the contract, noting that the extension period would apply for one year only initially, with the second year extension subject to the outcome of a service review.
