Decision

That the report be noted with regards to capital works to rebuild a two-storey classroom block at Marian Vian Primary School, Shirley Crescent, Beckenham.

That a contract be awarded for the delivery of capital works at Marian Vian Primary School, Shirley Crescent, Beckenham as detailed in Report CEF26027B.

Reasons for the decision

Planning consent for works at Marian Vian Primary School was granted on 15 January 2019, comprising the refurbishment of the former Children and Family Centre and the demolition and replacement of the two storey Year 6 block, to be part funded through Section 106 contributions.  Phase 1 of the works, which involved the refurbishment of the former Children and Family Centre, was completed in January 2021.  Section 106 funds to progress Phase 2, which involves the demolition and replacement of the Year 6 block, have now been received and incorporated into the Council’s Basic Need Programme.  Agreement has also been reached with Marian Vian Primary School and Mosaic Academy Trust to support any funding shortfall and enable delivery of the full project.
