Decision

That the acceptance and expenditure of the NHS England grant funding (estimated at c.£110k) for delivery of the WorkWell programme be authorised as set out in Report HPR2026/022, including the recruitment of two Employment Advisers and an Admin and Compliance Officer, covering the initial five-month delivery period.

That authority be delegated to the Director of Housing, Planning, Property and Regeneration, to accept and allocate any additionally secured employability grant in support of Bromley Works employability programmes, including any future WorkWell funding and the Government's Jobs Guarantee programme (or any successor programme), subject to the terms of the relevant funding agreement and the Council's Constitution.

Reasons for the decision

The WorkWell programme supports national and local priorities to reduce economic inactivity and help residents access, remain in, or return to work.  The NHS England grant is fully externally funded and will strengthen employment support for residents facing health-related barriers without creating any additional cost to the Council.  Agreeing delegated authority for current and future employability funding will enable funding opportunities to be secured and implemented efficiently, maximising external investment in Bromley Works programmes and delivering positive outcomes for residents.
