The Portfolio Holder approved the Food Safety Plan for 2024/2025

Reasons for the decision

The Council is the Food Safety Authority under the Food Safety Act 1990 and has a duty to enforce food safety, food standards and feed requirements. The Food Standards Agency requires the Council to publish a Food Safety Plan at regular intervals, and such plans have to have Member or appropriately authorised senior management approval.

The report presented to the Portfolio Holder set out the Council's annual plan for 2024 to 2025, for the effective enforcement of food safety legislation. The report noted the performance of the food safety function in the last business year. The Portfolio Holder was satisfied that the Plan should be approved.
