That authority be delegated to the Director of Education to maintain, through a suitable route, the maintenance and support agreement with Capita One for the Education Management System for a five-year period from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2030. It is intended to either utilise the rolling annual renewal option within the current contract or to award a new contract via a compliant framework, as appropriate.

Reasons for the decision

The Education Services Division requires a robust Management Information System (MIS) to support essential business functions, strategic planning and facilitate effective operational delivery across the division.  The current MIS, Capita One, is maintained under a perpetual software license and supplemented by a maintenance and support agreement, including upgrade provisions. The current maintenance and support agreement will expire on 31 March 2025, and it is therefore necessary to make a new award, via a compliant route, for the continued support of the MIS.
