Purpose

Decision

That the report be noted in considering the recommendations in the Part 2 (Exempt) report that details the tender outcome and seeks approval for the award of contract.

That delegated authority be granted to the Chief Officer to approve the extension option in due course, subject to the agreement of the Assistant Director: Governance and Contracts, the Director of Corporate Services and Governance and the Director of Finance as determined by the Contract Procedure Rules.

Reasons for the decision

The existing contract for the delivery of the Family Group Conference Service expires on 31 March 2024 with no further options to extend.  On 26 June 2023, the Portfolio for Children, Education and Families granted approval to proceed to tender for a new Family Group Conference service for a five-year contract commencing 1 April 2024 which, once awarded, has the option to extend for a further two years.
