Purpose

This is an Urgent Officer Decision. To extend the councils contract for services with Storey’s Field Community Trust, which is due to end 31st March 2025, by a maximum of 2 months to 30th May 2025. This is to enable the University of Cambridge to obtain admitted body status to LGPS for staff who will TUPE.

Decision (s) taken:

To extend the councils contract for services with Storey’s
Field Community Trust, which is due to end 31st March 2025, by a maximum of 2
months to 30th May 2025. This is to enable the University of Cambridge to
obtain admitted body status to LGPS for staff who will TUPE.

 

This is the maximum extension period, and it is hoped that
only one month will be required for admitted body status to be confirmed and
for the TUPE process to complete.

Why the Decision had to be made (and any alternative
options): Other alternative options for proceeding with TUPE of staff to the
University of Cambridge without having obtained admitted body status present
risks for staff and the council and are unacceptable.

Reason for the decision: To minimise any risk for completing
the TUPE of council employees to the University of Cambridge

Comments: The Executive Councillor for Communities,
Councillor Wade, was notified of the urgent decision process who confirmed via
e-mail on 31/03/25, agreed to the procedure and decision.
