Purpose

To consider proposals for a Safe and Healthy Streets scheme to
reduce through traffic and improve road safety on local streets to
the east of Camden Street, south of Camden Road.

Consideration was given to a report of the Director of
Environment and Sustainability.
 
DECISION –
 
THAT, having considered the proposals in relation to the
objectives set out in Camden’s Transport Strategy and other
key strategic policy documents, the public Consultation Summary
Report (Appendix B), the Equality Impact Assessment (Appendix C),
having had due regard to the needs set out in Section 149 of the
Equality Act 2010 and subject to compliance with statutory
requirements, the Cabinet Member for Planning and a Sustainable
Camden:
 

     
i)        
Approves the proposal to implement the Camden Street (South)
Area Safe and Healthy Streets Scheme, including the design
amendments that were made in response to feedback received in the
public consultation as set out in Section 2;
 

    
ii)        
Delegates to the Director of Environment &
Sustainability, following consultation with the Cabinet Member for
Planning and a Sustainable Camden, the authority to take any
further decisions relating to the scheme, including: (a)
consideration of any objections to statutory traffic orders; and
(b) final proposed measures at the end of the trial (Healthy School
Street and one-way system) period and;
 

  
iii)        
Delegates to the Chief Engineer the authority to take
decisions relating to the detailed design and
implementation/construction elements of the above
scheme.
