Purpose
This report seeks approval of the award of contract for
the provision of Bunkered Diesel fuel to Certas Energy UK
Limited.
The existing contract with New Era Fuels is due to expire
on 4th March 2025 and as the majority of the Council’s fleet
is still reliant on diesel fuel, officers have undertaken a
procurement process to award a new contract.
Following a mini competition through the new Crown
Commercial Service (CCS) National Fuels 3 Framework, officers
propose to award a contract to Certas Energy Uk Limited for the
continued provision of Bunkered
Diesel.
The new contract will commence on 5th March 2025 and will
be for an initial period of two years until 4th March 2027, with
the option to extend for an additional two-year period, up to 4th
March 2029 for a maximum of four years in total.
The estimated total value over the four year contract period will
be £949,826.39. This approach ensures
continuity of diesel fuel supply while officers continue to work
towards the Council’s long-term sustainability
goals.
The contract award report is being presented to the
Director of Environment and Sustainability for approval in line
with Contract Standing Orders.
