Purpose

This report considers the future use of Peperfield and
Mayford Learning Disability Day Centres. Peperfield was vacated in
April 2018, and Mayford will be vacated in November 2018 when the
service will move to the new Greenwood Centre. Feasibility studies
have been undertaken to explore options for the future uses of both
sites. The report summarises the outcomes of the feasibility work
undertaken, and recommends the conversion of Mayford to learning
disability supported living accommodation, and Peperfield to
residential accommodation (social housing tenancy).
 
The report and its recommendations to convert the
properties and the proposed funding streams have been approved by
the Adult Social Care (ASC) Transformation Board (24th September)
and the Investment and Resources Board (12th October), where it was
noted that the proposals offer good value for money. The report has
also been well received by the Cabinet Member for Tackling Health
Inequality and Promoting Independence and the Cabinet Member for
Finance and Transformation, with no substantive
comments.
