Purpose

This report is for the procurement of a Landscape
Contractor to deliver the Waterlow Park junior play area and
landscaping improvement works. The work is comprised of
construction works involving soft landscaping, installation of play
equipment and street furniture.
 
A quantity surveyor working for the Landscape Architect
has estimated the work to cost approximately £150,000 and
there is sufficient funding available to meet this estimate within
the project budget (approved S106 allocation). The proposed
procurement route is a request for quotation (RFQ) to 5
contractors. The project duration is estimated to be 8 weeks from
project start.
 
The contract is expected to be awarded in March 2025, with
works expected to commence from March/April 2025.
 
The report is being submitted to the Director of
Recreation in line with Contract Standing Orders which state that a
Chief Officer must agree procurement strategies for contracts with
