Purpose
On 28 February 2024 it was
agreed to allocate a
total of £1,538,446 of Strategic Community Infrastructure
Levy (SCIL) to fund the delivery of infrastructure projects and
associated costs in the Council’s Culture, Regeneration,
Participation, High Speed 2 (HS2) and Euston services, this took
into account SCIL already allocated to staffing costs in the
Regeneration and Transport Strategy and Policy services for 24/25.
On 17 June 2024 it was
agreed to allocate the
remaining balance of £1,037,533 SCIL for 23/24 to the Holborn
Liveable Neighbourhood Project. On 26 March 2025 it was
agreed to allocate
£44,900 to cover the cost of the Camden Town Economic Study.
At the start of financial year 2025/26 there is £4,014,773 of
SCIL available. This report seeks to allocate £250,000 to
cover the cost of additional community safety officer resource to
support the Camden High Street pedestrianisation trial, leaving a
balance of £3,764,773.
The Supporting Communities
Directorate Authorisation Scheme (SCDAS) delegates all matters not
reserved to members to the relevant Executive Director. Executive
Directors are permitted to authorise others within their
Directorates to exercise those powers delegated to them. Function
128 of the SCDAS delegates authority to the Director of Economy,
Regeneration and Investment to allocate Camden CIL funds up to
£500,000.
