Purpose
In December 2024, Camden was notified by the
Office of Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), that its Drug
and Alcohol Treatment and Recovery Improvement Grant (DATRIG)
allocation for 2025/26 (Year 4) would be £2,792,326. Confirmation of actual grant value was not
received until 21st
March. Since then, officers have been liaising with
key delivery partners and grant leads at the Office of Health
Improvement and Disparities to agree how the grant can be spent to
support Camden in achieving the outcomes outlined in the national
Drug Strategy.
All funding must be utilised by 31 March 2026,
any unspent grant must be returned to OHID.
This report is
proposing Camden will enter into a three separate grant agreements
with local providers currently delivering services under the menu
of interventions outlined in the grant
conditions. We have
liaised with providers to determine that interventions have been
co-produced with service users and will meet the outcomes of the
drug strategy.
Full details of the proposed grant
funded external provision are outlined below.
This report is required as the Camden
Constitution requires that any grant award between £25,000
and £100,000 per year is delegated to the Director of Public
Health following consultation with the relevant Cabinet
Member.
