Purpose

This report requests the Director of
Environment & Sustainability to approve the processing of a
stopping up order (permanent road closure).

Content

The Director of Environment &
Sustainability is asked to:

a)    
Note the
report and the Highway Authority’s comments.

b)    
Approve the advertising of the
draft stopping up order for public consultation to stop up all the
land shown on the plan in Appendix 1.

c)    
Agree that
the Council requests a Court hearing to process the Stopping Up
order under Section 116 (S116) of the Highways Act
1980.

d)    
Agree that the Council requests
the court to make the order on the grounds that the land is
unnecessary.
