Purpose
To consider a housing strategy and leaseholder buyback
arrangements to support the Regeneration Strategy for Regis
Road.

Consideration was given to a report of the
Director of Economy, Regeneration and Investment.
DECISION –
THAT the Cabinet Member for New Homes and
Community Investment, having had regard to the Council’s
statutory duty regarding equalities as set out in Section 149 of
the Equalities Act 2010 and taking account of the Equalities Impact
Assessment (Appendix 2) and following consultation with the
Executive Director Supporting Communities, the Executive Director
Corporate Services, the Borough Solicitor and the Cabinet Members
for Finance and Cost of Living, and Cabinet Member for Better
Homes, agrees to:
i)
Note the contents of the Housing
Strategy, to be approved by the Executive Director of Supporting
Communities, including Camden Council's Commitments to Residents at
76 & 78 Holmes Road (Appendix 3), the Local Lettings Plan
(Appendix 4) and Approach to Managing Voids 76 & 78 Holmes Road
(Appendix 5);
ii)
Acquire the land interests of the
five leaseholder properties through Leaseholder Buyback
arrangements, following the approach set out in the report and
based on the budgetary information set out in Part II Appendix, in
order to facilitate the Regis Road Regeneration Strategy;
and
iii)
Authorise the Head of Property to
approve the final financial terms of each acquisition by way of an
‘Authorisation Sheet’ which contains details of the
property, up-to-date valuations, terms agreed and confirmation that
the agreed terms fall within the totals set out in the Part II
Appendix.
