Purpose

This report seeks approval from the Director
of Environment and Sustainability, following consultation with the
Cabinet Member for Planning and a Sustainable Camden, to implement
86 fast electric vehicle charge points (EVCPs) across the Borough.
It also provides details of the results of a public and Traffic
Management Order (TMO) consultations that were undertaken
concurrently between 27th February 2025 and 20th March
2025.
 
The proposals would help meet the objectives
of We Make Camden by providing electric vehicle charging
infrastructure to our stakeholders, which will encourage a switch
to electric vehicles where there is essential need for a car,
supporting Camden to be a green, clean, vibrant, accessible and
sustainable place with everyone empowered to contribute to tacking
the Climate Emergency.
 
The implementation of rapid electric vehicle
charge points also contributes to key objectives in the Camden
Transport Strategy 2019-2041,the Three Year Delivery Plan 2022/23
– 2024/25, Camden Transport Strategy Delivery Plan 2025-28
& Local Implementation Plan, the Camden Clean Air Action Plan
2023-26, and the Camden Climate Action Plan 2020-25.

That having
considered the results of the consultation (section 5 of the report
and Appendix E), the Equality Impact Assessment (EqIA) (section
4  of the report and Appendix C) and having due
regard to the duties set out in section 149 of the Equality Act
2010, and subject to compliance with relevant statutory
requirements, the Director of Environment and Sustainability,
following consultation with the Cabinet Member for Planning and a
