Purpose
The We Make
Camden Kit (the Kit) is a small grants fund which supports citizen
led social action that make important contributions to the We Make
Camden missions. The Kit is an important part of the Community
Partnership Team’s eco-system of grants, as set out in the
VCS Investment Programme 2024-2031.
It is proposed
that the Interim Executive Director Corporate Services, following
consultation with the Cabinet Member for Voluntary Sector,
Equalities and Cohesion approves funding of £100,000 a year
to Camden Giving to deliver the We Make Camden Kit for 2025/26 and
2026/27 subject to annual review and monitoring. Camden Giving is a
local participatory funder working to end poverty and
inequality.
The We Make
Camden Kit (the Kit) is a joint funding initiative between
Partnerships and Participation and the Community Partnership Team.
The Participation and Partnerships team provide funding of
£100,000 a year to Camden Giving to cover the running costs
of the We Make Camden Kit, which includes a support offer to
citizens and grassroots VCS organisations. The Kit will continue to
be delivered in partnership between Camden Giving, Camden Council
and the Participatory Panel of Camden citizens. This report
highlights key achievements and learnings from the first 4 years
since the launch of the Kit in 2021, including the outcomes of a
recent peer research evaluation.
