Purpose
This report
requests the Director of Environment & Sustainability to
approve the processing of a stopping up order (permanant road
closure) relating to land at Chalton Street, as part of the Godwin
Crowndale Community Investment Programme (CIP) development. The
recommendations include the steps of the statutory process required
to proceed with the stopping up order.
Content
THAT the Director
of Environment & Sustainability:
I.
Notes the report and the highway authority’s
comments.
II.
Approves the advertising of the draft stopping up order for
public consultation to stop up the land shown on the plan in
Appendix 1.
III.
Approves the order to be made and final advertisement, should
no objections be received, or all objections being
withdrawn.
IV.
Agrees that if objections are received which are not
withdrawn, the Mayor of London should be notified so a decision on
whether to hold a public inquiry can be made, as required by
legislation, should the applicant wish to proceed with the stopping
up order.
V.
Agrees that if a public inquiry is required by the Mayor of
London, it can be arranged and undertaken.
VI.
Agrees that if the Mayor of London allows for the order to be
made without a public inquiry, the order can be made.
