Purpose

This report
seeks endorsement of the award of a concession contract for
sponsorship of tree planting in the borough. The service required
is to calculate the social value of the council's tree population
and market that through a platform to suitable companies. Funds
generated through the sale will be used as capital for new tree
planting in the borough. The service provider will generate revenue
through the contract and a percentage of this will be paid to the
Council as income.
 
Following
successful completion of the tender process, the recommended
winning tenderer is Carbon Heroes Ltd. The proposed contract award
is for a period of one year (with two optional extension period of
one-year each), for an estimated total revenue value of
£1,851,000. The contract is expected to commence in October
2025.
 
The contract
award report is being presented to the Director of Recreation and
Public Safety for approval in line with Contract Standing
Orders.

Director of Recreation and Public Safety approves the award of the
contract to Carbon Heroes Ltd for a period of 12 months (including
2 contract extensions of 12 months each) for the estimated value of
£1,851,000 in aggregate including contract
extensions).
