Purpose

This report seeks approval of the Procurement Strategy to commission a new Adult Social Care (ASC) co-production and lived experience involvement service. The new proposed service is a result of a review of coproduction and lived experience opportunities and existing services, several of which have contracts expiring in March 2027. Officers are proposing a shared service that draws on the strengths of existing coproduction and lived experience approaches, whilst creating a more inclusive and responsive model that supports more people to get involved.
 

The service will support statutory duties, especially under the Care Act 2014, and the commitment in We Make Camden to share power with our residents. It will commence from 1 April 2027 for 60 months. The proposed budget is £150,000 per annum (£750,000 in total).

The report is being submitted to the Executive Director Adults and Health in line with Contract Standing Orders which state that an Executive Director must agree procurement strategies for contracts with a value £500,000 to £1million.

Decision

THAT the Executive Director Adults and Health:
 

1. Approves the procurement strategy, to commission a new Adult Social Care co-production and lived experience involvement service, including a price/quality split of 40/60 and a contract term of 60 months, for an estimated aggregate value of £750,000.
2. Delegates authority to the Director of ASC Strategy and Commissioning to take all necessary steps to implement the procurement strategy and finalise the tender documentation, provided any changes are non-material and compliant with the Procurement Act 2023 and Contract Standing Orders.
