Purpose

This report outlines proposals for a community funded solar
photovoltaic (PV) array to be installed on the roofs of Parliament
Hill and Regent High schools. The report seeks approval to licence
the use of the roof to the Power Up North London (PUNL) community
benefit society, who will raise investment for the solar through a
community share offer and sell the power at a discounted rate to
the schools.
 
The report also seeks approval for Power Up North London to
launch the community share offer to raise the required funding to
install the solar panels. The panels are proposed to be installed
over the summer of 2024.
 
The Chief Executive is taking the decision on behalf of the
Executive Director Supporting Communities, to whom the decision is
delegated to by Cabinet, in their
absence.
