Purpose

This report seeks approval for
the award of contract to Coleman and Company Limited to undertake a
pre-construction enabling works package for the Hadley Street
Project, consisting of the demolition of a void parking structure
on Castle Road Estate, below ground drainage enabling works and the
erection of hoarding for the site.

 

Following a closed
sub-threshold tender process, to which five contractors
were  contacted in advance to establish interest,
and then invited to
tender in accordance with the Public Contract Regulations 2015,
this report seeks endorsement to award the contract to the most economically
advantageous tender. The contract is due to  commence in
March 2024 with start on site from May 2024 in a 14-week and 3 days
programme.

THAT the Executive Director of Supporting Communities (in
consultation with the Cabinet Member for New Homes, Jobs and
Community Investment, Cabinet Member for Better Homes and Cabinet
Member for Finance and Cost of Living, the Executive Director
Corporate Services and the Borough Solicitor), approves the
following recommendation:

the award of a pre-construction enabling works
contract to Coleman and Company Limited for a term of 14 weeks and
3 days.
