Purpose
This report seeks approval from the Chief Engineer to implement
minor parking changes in line with our Safer Junctions Programme on
Leverton Street at the junction with Falkland Road as
outlined in Section 2 of this report. This includes the relocation
of a permit holder only parking space from the east side of the
street to the west side of the street and the introduction of
double yellow lines on both sides of the street.
A public consultation on the proposals detailed in this report
was undertaken from 25th January 2024 to 16th February
2024. A copy of the consultation letter which includes the
consultation drawing is provided as Appendix A at the rear
of this report.
The report follows a consideration of relevant policies and the
public consultation on the proposals. The proposals meet the
objectives of We Make Camden by helping create clean, vibrant, and
sustainable places. The proposals also meet the objectives of the
Camden Transport Strategy and Road Safety Action Plan by helping to
make our streets and transport networks safe, accessible, and
inclusive for all.

THAT the Chief Engineer having
considered the proposals in relation to the objectives set out in
the Camden Transport Strategy, the public consultation results
(Section 6), the Camden Transport Strategy Equalities Impact
Assessment (EqIA), having due regard to the needs set
out in section 149 of the Equality Act 2010, and subject to
compliance with relevant statutory requirements and detailed
design:
(i)
approves the implementation of the proposed minor parking changes
on Leverton Street as summarised in section 2 of this
report; and
(ii)
delegates to the Transport Design Team Manager the
authority to take any further decisions required for the
implementation of the recommended proposals.
