Purpose

 
This report seeks approval of the award of contract
for Legal Services for Debt Recovery. The services
will include:

·      
Legal services for the recovery of all outstanding debt owed
to Camden – excluding Parking and Council Tax / National
Non-Domestic Rates (NNDR)

·      
Contractor services will be employed on a case-by-case basis
once all the internal processes have been exhausted in the pursuit
of the debt.

·      
Contract services will include Letters before Action (LBA) to
litigation through to enforcement.
It is recommended to award a
contract for the provision of the services to Judge & Priestley
LLP for a period of 6 years. The contract will include break
provision, which may be enacted after 3 years.
An open tender exercise was
conducted, with Judge & Priestley LLP the highest scoring
tender received as part of the process.

THAT the Executive Director Corporate
Services agrees the award of the contract to Judge
& Priestley LLP for a period of 6 years for the
estimated sum of £630,000 per annum (£3,800,000 in
aggregate including contract extensions).
