Purpose

This report seeks approval of the strategy for procurement of
contractors to deliver the outstanding and next round schools
condition works.  A variety of 
condition works are proposed at 6 schools (Acland Burghley
Secondary school, NW5 1UJ, Fitzjohn’s Primary school, NW5
1UJ, Fleet Primary school, NW3 2QT, New End Primary school, NW3
1HU, Primrose Hill Primary school, NW1 8JS and Rhyl Primary school,
Rhyl Street, NW5 3HB).
 
The works are to be procured under 5 separate contracts to
pre-selected lists of suitably experienced contractors via a closed
single stage selective tendering procedure.
 
The  proposed contracts covered
by this report are:
Contract 1 - Rhyl school - Windows and External Ground
works,– estimated value £919k
Contract 2 - New End School – Fire doors/pitched
roof/windows – estimated value £1.13m
Contract 3 - Roofing and windows/doors works – estimated
value £247k
Contract 4 - Windows and External Doors – estimated value
£121k
Contract 5 - External Ground works – Estimated value
£49k
 
The total estimated value of the 5 contracts is £2.5m.

THAT the Director of Property Management approves the
procurement strategy to tender the school condition works projects
for 5 competitive tenders to a closed tender list of 4 or 5
contractors, using an evaluation criteria of 60% price and 40%
quality (including 10% social value), for a total estimated value
of £2.5m. The contracts are planned to start in late spring
2024.
