Purpose
This report sets out the result of the procurement process and
recommends the award of contract for Camden’s eight bed
residential children’s home for children looked after to
KPMS. The contract will commence on or around 1st April 2024 for a
term of four years at a total contract value of
£4,176,378.96. KPMS scored highest in both quality and price
criteria.
The strengths of the recommended tender include; a model which
addresses children’s trauma and supports recovery, In-house
social workers at the heart of care-planning and multiagency
meetings, a strong focus on children and young people achieving
their full potential, they are supported to develop structured ways
of living to achieve goals such as employment and training, a
creative approach to developing an environmentally sustainable
service with residents including ecosystems for reusing waste, well
supported staff with access to psychotherapy, and additional staff
to support the service when needed.
This service helps to deliver our ‘We Make Camden’
ambitions, by promoting a borough where everyone can succeed and
ensuring that everyone should have a place that they call home. A
place where our children can be given the best start in life, with
the opportunities to develop all their capabilities.
This report is being presented to the Executive Director
Children and Learning in line with Contract Standing Orders and
includes a Part II appendix which contains commercially sensitive
information relating to the tender evaluation.
