Purpose

To agree to the procurement strategy and award of a
contract for security guarding services.

Consideration was given to a report of the Executive Director
Supporting Communities.
 
DECISION –
 
THAT the Cabinet Member for
Finance and Cost of Living approves:
 
     
i)        
The award of the contract to Carlisle Security for a period
of 1 year (plus the option to extend by up to a further 6 months)
for the sum of £3M per annum (£4.5M in aggregate
including contract extensions); and
 
    
ii)        
A Waiver of Contract Standing Order CSO
F2.1(i), as described in section 4 of this report, to
allow for a contingency for
an optional extension period of the current contract for up to 3
months to ensure a smooth TUPE and service transfer period,
for a maximum total value of £750,00
