Purpose

This report requests the Director of Environment &
Sustainability to approve the processing of a stopping up order
(permanent road closure).
 
 

Content

THAT the Director of Environment & Sustainability:

•        
Notes the report and the highway authority’s comments.

•        
Approves the advertising of the draft stopping up order for public
consultation to stop up all of the land shown on the plan in
Appendix 1.

•        
Approves the order to be made and final advertisement should no
objections be received, or all objections being withdrawn.

•        
Agrees that if objections are received which are not withdrawn, the
Mayor of London should be notified so a decision on whether to hold
a public inquiry can be made, as required by legislation, should
the applicant wish to proceed with the stopping up order.

•        
Agrees that if a public inquiry is required by the Mayor of London
it can be arranged and undertaken.

•        
Agrees that if the Mayor of London allows for the order to be made
without a public inquiry, the order can be made.
