Purpose
To consider and make a decision on officer recommendations for
the future of Subsurface Technology Electric Pathways (STEP) charge
points beyond the trial.

Consideration was given to a report of
the Director of Environment and Sustainability.
DECISION –
THAT, having considered the
results of the public consultation, the role of the provision of
accessible electric vehicle charging infrastructure in encouraging
the uptake of electric vehicles (thereby contributing to meeting
the objectives of the Camden Transport), the Equality Impact
Assessment detailed in Appendix C, and having had due regard to the
needs set out in section 149 of the Equality Act (2010), the
Cabinet Member for a Sustainable Camden is asked to:
i)
Approve the making permanent of 43 of the 45 sub-surface
electric vehicle charging points, that were installed under the
STEP trial scheme in April 2022;
ii)
Note that two of the 15 charge points initially installed in
Parliament Hill were removed due to the implementation of a rain
garden; and
iii)
Delegate authority to the Director of Environment and
Sustainability to take any further decisions required on the
scheme.
